A wild journey into the unknown
»Enchanting journey into the afterlife.«
»The superb ensemble of three singers and two circus performers... embarks on excursions into unbridled spheres.«
What is death? Where do we end up when we die and what happens there? Will we be reunited with those who passed on before us? What will we look like? These questions are activated, rather than answered, as opera singers, acrobats and musicians guide us through seven worlds, each defined by music by the most famous opera composers – a trip along the windy road of existence.
In this new production by acclaimed director and multiartist Charlotte Engelkes, the audience will hear Bizet, Offenbach, Mozart, Rossini, Wagner and Purcell in new, unexpected contexts. An action-packed performance where myth meets our own time and serious matters are portrayed by the surreal: the guard dog of the underworld is a three-headed poodle; classic opera meets new electronic music, and a penguin sings a duet with a moose.
Suitable for children aged 10–12.
