Mozart for EVERYONE as Die Zauberflöte is back on the Opera's stage

The Queen of the Night asks Tamino to rescue her daughter Pamina who has been abducted by Sarastro. If he succeeds, Tamino can marry Pamina. The bird catcher Papageno follows Tamino on his quest with his magic flute and glockenspiel. But nothing is what it appears to be. Are Pamina’s mother and Sarastro both evil, or neither of them? Tamino, Papageno and Pamina are soon subjected to a series of challenging trials…

Mozart’s last and perhaps most beloved opera is a fairytale adventure about the power of love and music. The dramatic events and the characters are as complex as we all are in real life. Mozart directed the premiere of Die Zauberflöte (The Magic Flute) in Vienna in 1791 when the librettist Emanual Schikaneder sang the role of Papageno. Ole Anders Tandberg’s imaginative production explores the boundaries of light and dark, good and evil. Die Zauberflöte is one of the Royal Swedish Opera’s most popular productions.
